As a Software Engineer, you build and own core parts of Flow’s product and platform end to end. You take responsibility for architectural components - from backend services and APIs to the infrastructure they run on and the user-facing surfaces that expose them.
Your primary focus is backend engineering, but you are comfortable working across the stack when it creates leverage for our customers. Platform and DevOps responsibilities are a natural part of the role: you help design, deploy, and operate cloud infrastructure, and you ensure that what you build runs reliably in production. You also contribute to frontend components where needed, ensuring that backend capabilities are surfaced cleanly and intuitively to users.
This role is for a builder with strong end to end ownership instincts - someone who is willing to go deep, iterate over time, and insist on highest standards.
What you will do
Design, implement, and own backend services, APIs, and core platform components, primarily using Python.
Build and maintain frontend components and user-facing features using React and TypeScript.
Integrate external systems and services to support product and customer workflows.
Engineer and operate AWS-based infrastructure, supporting both multi-tenant and dedicated-account deployments.
Drive operational excellence through Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, testing, monitoring, logging, and automated recovery.
What we are looking for
Solid experience as a software engineer with a backend-first profile and hands-on ownership of production systems.
Strong expertise in AWS, cloud-native architecture, and distributed systems, with an operational mindset.
Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices, including CI/CD, deployments, and quality-focused workflows.
Experience building or contributing to frontend applications (e.g. React / TypeScript) and an understanding of how frontend and backend concerns fit together.
A builder’s mindset - you take responsibility end to end, go deep on problems, iterate deliberately, and raise the engineering bar.
This role is based in Munich or Heilbronn with 40%+ on-site presence.
What we offer
Build and run core product and platform of an ambitious FinTech applying agentic AI to real-world financial problems.
Work with a modern, evolving tech stack, where we continuously explore, evaluate, and adopt the best tools for the job - including an internal agent force.
Join an ambitious, collaborative team that values curiosity, ownership, and low ego over hierarchy.
Take a central, hands-on role in shaping how customers experience our product during a critical growth phase.
Grow with a product-first, early-stage startup, offering competitive compensation, equity, and long-term impact.
If that sounds like you, we’re looking forward to chatting with you!
