As a Working Student – Data Science (Financial Data), you support both our customer onboarding efforts and internal product development by working hands-on with real financial data. You collaborate closely with our Customer Data Integration Engineers and product team to analyze, interpret, and explain complex datasets from ERP systems, banks, and planning tools.
Your work focuses on deep data exploration: understanding what the numbers mean in a business and financial context, identifying inconsistencies, patterns, and outliers, and helping turn raw data into clear, actionable insights. Along the way, you contribute to data quality reports, visualizations, and scripts that help transform manual analysis into repeatable, scalable processes.
This role offers close collaboration with our CTO, product managers, and experienced engineers who have built and scaled production systems. It’s ideal for someone with a strong analytical foundation who is curious about how data science connects to engineering and real-world financial applications.
What you will do
Dive deep into financial datasets to identify data meaning, inconsistencies, patterns, and outliers, clarifying findings with the team and customers.
Build data quality reports, visualizations, and dashboards that support onboarding and product development.
Write Python scripts and small automations to support data ingestion, validation, and analysis workflows.
Support the development and improvement of data models, validation logic, and ingestion artifacts by contributing analyses and feedback based on real customer data.
Document insights and analyses clearly, contributing to data storytelling that helps both customers and internal teams.
What we are looking for
Currently enrolled student (e.g. mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or related field) with a strong analytical focus.
Solid foundation in Python for data analysis, including common libraries and data visualization tools.
Strong interest in data exploration, data storytelling, and understanding the “why” behind numbers.
Engineering-curious mindset - interested in going beyond pure analytics and learning how data flows into production systems.
Based in Munich or Heilbronn with availability to work on-site roughly every other week (~40%), remaining time remote.
