As a Working Student - Software Engineering, you are part of the team that builds and runs Flow’s core platform. You work closely with experienced engineers in an early-stage environment where priorities can shift quickly.
The role is embedded in day-to-day delivery: you contribute to real production systems, help keep things running reliably, and learn how software is designed, shipped, and operated in practice. You’ll experience firsthand how we balance speed and scale - moving fast to deliver value while continuously improving the foundations of our platform.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building, wants to understand systems end to end, and is motivated to go deep rather than just completing isolated tasks.
What you will do
Design, develop, and deploy software components and automation services.
Contribute to backend services, APIs, and platform components, primarily in Python.
Support frontend development where needed, using React and TypeScript.
Help operate and improve our AWS-based infrastructure, including deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and testing workflows.
Debug, iterate on, and improve production systems, addressing real issues and learning from them.
What we are looking for
Currently enrolled student in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, with a strong interest in building real systems.
Solid foundation in software engineering principles and hands-on experience with modern frameworks.
Curiosity and motivation to go deep, iterate, learn, and continuously improve rather than just implement surface-level solutions.
Comfort working with AWS and modern DevOps practices, or strong motivation to learn them quickly in a production setting.
Based in Munich or Heilbronn with availability to work on-site roughly every other week (~40%), remaining time remote.
